The 29-year-old former Manchester City defender has applied to the Employment Tribunal for compensation in recent days, claiming he suffered “unauthorized deductions from wages” after being accused of rape and sexual assault in 2021.
Mendy was acquitted by a jury at a retrial at Chester Crown Court in July. The footballer was acquitted of sex offenses against multiple women earlier this year, but a jury was unable to reach a verdict on two other charges, leading to a retrial.
Until the contract expires in June 2023, Mendy has been working hard to recover the wages he is owed.
Nick DeMarco KC has confirmed to TiT Sports News that he represents the current Lorient player and has made a claim for compensation.
A statement read: Nick DeMarco KC – coached by Rafael Apogados from Madrid – is bringing a multi-million pound claim for unauthorized deductions from wages on behalf of former Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy.
Manchester City Football Club has stopped paying wages to Mr. Mendy from September 2021 after accusing him of multiple crimes. However, he was later acquitted and will continue to perform the contract until it expires in June 2023. He will now pursue his claim in an employment tribunal.

In 2017, Manchester City bought Mendy for £52 million, making him the most expensive defender in the Premier League.
He has won three championships with Manchester City and was part of the winning team at the 2018 World Cup in France.
Mendy is an active player of the Ligue 1 team Lorient. He last played for the club in August 2021.
